Today, our company organized a grand family dumpling feast, where we gathered to make and enjoy dumplings together.

Steam rose warmly from the company kitchen, with rows of dumplings neatly arranged on trays, waiting to be cooked. Employees sat around, chatting and laughing.

On December 21st, the Winter Solstice, the company cafeteria was decorated with extra warmth. Red paper-cuts adorned the windows, warm yellow light spilled onto the long dining tables, and the air was filled with the aroma of ginger, scallions, and mixed meat fillings.

Starting from 9 AM, employees from various departments gradually finished their tasks and came to the cafeteria to participate in this special Winter Solstice activity.

1 Preparations

Before the Winter Solstice, the Administrative Department began meticulous planning. After the notice was sent via the internal communication system, a steady stream of employees signed up to join the dumpling-making.

Administrative Manager Li Jing said, "We prepared five types of dumpling fillings, including traditional pork and cabbage, chive and egg with shrimp, and an innovative one with a piece of candy inside, symbolizing a sweet life and prosperous business."

The kitchen staff prepared ingredients and tools in advance. Stainless steel bowls held the seasoned fillings, dough was kneaded and rested, rolling pins, cutting boards, and trays were neatly arranged.

2 The Lively Wrap-Up

At 9:30 AM, the dumpling-making activity officially began. The cafeteria instantly turned into a lively workshop. Experienced employees from northern China demonstrated skillful techniques—holding the wrapper in one hand, filling it with the other, their fingers flying to complete a crescent-shaped dumpling.

Colleagues from southern China showed endless creativity. Some tried making ingot-shaped dumplings, others pinched fancy edges, and some even created animal-shaped ones. Xiao Wang from Sales was making dumplings for the first time. He earnestly learned from his neighbor, and though his first few dumplings were irregular, he quickly got the hang of it.

Sister Li from Finance was a dumpling-making expert. While wrapping rapidly, she shared tips: "Don't put too much filling, and pinch the edges tightly, or they might fall apart when boiling."

Friendly competitions sprang up between groups, comparing which team made the most or the neatest-looking dumplings. Laughter, conversation, and occasional cheers filled the space, replacing the usual serious office atmosphere with a relaxed, festive vibe.

3 Into the Pot They Go

After about two hours, around 11:30 AM, the first batch of dumplings was ready for cooking. The canteen chefs brought out several large pots. Once the water boiled, the plump dumplings were gently placed in. Soon, they tumbled in the bubbling water, their delicious aroma spreading.

"Dumplings are done!" With that call, the first batch was ladled out, served on large plates. Employees lined up orderly to collect them, dipping them in black vinegar, chili oil, or garlic paste, and began tasting the fruits of their labor.

Xiao Chen from the Technical Department took a bite and said contentedly, "Dumplings made by ourselves are the most delicious! This is the best Winter Solstice dumpling I've ever had."

4 Warm Moments

During the meal, company leaders joined the employees, sharing the food together. General Manager Mr. Wang, holding a bowl of dumplings, expressed his wishes to all staff: "The Winter Solstice is a festival of reunion. Today, we make and eat dumplings together, feeling the warmth of family. Thank you for everyone's hard work throughout the year. I wish you all a happy Winter Solstice and good health!"

At the tables, colleagues exchanged dumpling-making tips and shared amusing work stories. New employees quickly integrated into the team through this activity, while veteran staff strengthened their bonds.

5 Cultural Heritage

Eating dumplings on the Winter Solstice is a traditional custom in northern China, symbolizing reunion and warmth. The company organized this event not only to enrich employees' leisure life but also to pass on traditional culture and enhance team cohesion.

"Through such collective activities, we hope employees can feel the warmth of the company family," the event organizer stated. "In our fast-paced work life, moments like this allow everyone to relax, connect, and also reflect the company's care for its employees."

After the event, many employees lingered, taking photos to capture and share the warmth with family and friends. The cafeteria staff packed the remaining dumplings so colleagues working overtime could also enjoy a taste of the festive warmth.
